nokia 6300 - my new toy

Rushed to town to buy my 6300 from my fren. Was a good deal. Paid only 270 after trading in of my current fone. The phone seemed impressive so far, just an upgrade from my previous in the camera pixels. Functionalities remain the same. What I liked best is the sleek and slim look, feel so light in my hand. What I read from the reviews on the cons are: battery run out pretty fast not as good as other Nokia phone. The battery is slightly smaller than other nokia fone, that explained the shorter talk-time as indicated on the fone. Was in dilemma to choose between this one or samsung Z720(13.5 edition). Well after 2 years, decided to give up my fone. First time I bought a fone with no contract.

ARRIVAL of the R&R KEYZ

Has been a long tiring day for me and RD. Woke up as early as 845am to collect keys at Toa Payoh, the day we have been waiting for has arrived. Got the queue nbr 2126,didnt have to wait long and was served by a friendly HDB officer.

Going thru with us the loanable amount, the procedures and etc. Lotsa of documents to sign man, didnt go thru all in details. Guess HDB wont cheap us. Has a total of 24keys inclusive of spares one. Paid the fire insurance and paid for conservancy fees. Spent almost an hr there and bumped into my Poly mate who got a flat in Compassvale.

Went to our new flat to check the defects, had about 4 defects so far, mainly on leaking stains above the ceiling in the living room and near the window's walls in the bedrooms.

Also arranged to meet my ID there as well to see the layout and what else need to be done. Unfortunately after seeing the house, hv to spend abit more to box-up the pipe in the toilets. The floor plan of the toilet and kitchen indicated abit bigger, but the actual are not that big in size. "Got cheated feeling" ;p. Can only start work probably next week and ID said still need to wait for work permit approval. Went to a 2 house to see their reno, cant imagine the mess when laying tiles man.

After which, went to HDB Bukit Merah Branch to report all defects. How efficient man, they will only contact me after 2 days. Most likely hv to wait till next week to fix the defects.

I guess what I like best is the view for now. Took a few pics. Pretty nice view, the heigh is just nice, not too high up with trembling feet and not too low with smelly chutes right beneath. Pictures tell u more.....

another gathering @ tam's place

Went church and headed to Tam's place this afternoon as arranged. Everyone was supposedly to turn up @ 3pm as Dean said, "EARLY BONDING".Kaoz, what early bonding leh, when he turned up at almost 6pm, Jo didnt even turn up and didnt even inform us. Sigh..but well we had Blackjack and Tam won over 700+. Wow, tat's really alot man. Lost just 10bucks. Didnt really have the mood to play also, as my dear RD was super pissed wif me for breaking my promise in not going his aunt's place. Hmph, then again, I didnt break my promise, just tat i ll joined him an hr later. Not easy coaxing him, cos his mood will be totally spoilt. RD:I will make it up! Next weekend, will be hving some gathering at my coll's place, and he told me to go ahead wif my own plans. Petty boy.

Chingay - Anniversary

Been a few daes since i last post. Yesterday, went town shopping wif JIA, been the longest time since we last shop. Everyone cant endure to the distance when I shop till drop. JIA will neva forget HK trip when we shop 11-11. Town was pretty quiet as everyone was avoiding the crowd due to Chingay Parade. Chingay has alwis been an ANNIVERSARY for me n RD. It's how we got together. My dear RD was too tired to spend Chingay. I ended up having STEAMBOAT a@ ROXY wif JIA & Alvina.

back to work....

It's second day of work, office is quiet, everyone had taken leave during this period. The mood for Thurs is alwis good, as I know weekend is coming.
Had dept lunch at Tung Lok East Coast. As there are some vege Indians in my dept, there was vegetarian LO HEI especially catered too for them. Food was good but didnt seemed enough for me. Yummy Yummy!!!
Was a surprise for me when I received a call from Denise, she was back for CNY holiday, but flying off tomorrow. Wasnt able to tell her my ROM until today. Glad to hear that she will arrange to fly back on Jul 7. Was full of surprise for her, like how come all of sudden and with who, when, and everything a good fren of mine will ask me when they hear about it.
Left office almost like 11pm, met up with Billy and Adrian for supper at Bedok 85. Poor Adrian was limping, as his legs had bad muscle strain due to the soccer. The CSQ boys had friendly soccer game yesterday at Kallang indoor soccer pitch, was invited to take pictures for them, but too sian to go.

Lunar New Year - Day Two

Lunar New Year - Day Two. Visited my grandaunt @eunos then headed to RD's fren house gathering @ Pasir Ris. Had steamboat dinner. Next year CNY gathering for his frens will be at our place, however we have no intention of having dining table yet. Received 2 ang pow from his frens, they said this year would be our last year to receive. Haha, so untrue!! for those yearning for our ang pow, it will be in 2010. 2007-ROM, 2008-Customary, 2009-Exemption after customary. 2008 will be our last year to receive ang pow.
Played some card games - Blackjack and InBetween, won over 100dlrs. At one point the pool of money in e center was like 176dlrs, but all didnt dare to whack e pool of $$. Weekend will be another chance for me to win more at my fren's place.

Lunar New Year - Day One

My Lunar Day One - As I has always been staying with my maternal grandparents and aunt, PAI-NIAN on First Day is just at my paternal granny side. When I was younger, would go back home to parents' home to stay on the 30th night, but as I grow older, found it too troublesome, since it was just a night.
Waking up, getting changed, and receiving red packet from maternal grandparents is the usual for me these 10 years. The rest of the maternal side relatives, would come to the house for PAI-NIAN.
As it has alwis been, my dad will stay at home while just the three of us would go visiting. First stop, my paternal granny. This year, visiting was done @ my youngest uncle house as my granny is now bedridden after a stroke last year. Had a few cousins who were also there to PAI-NIAN to her. Reminiscing the good and bad times, is kinda hard to believe my 91 years old granny who was once very active, would walk along Orchard Rd shopping with me and just last year CNY, she could still actively engaged in conversation with all the relatives. But for this year, she had to lay on the bed, could sense she is pretty upset, unable to have reunion dinner, unable exchange oranges, unable to taste the CNY goodies, unable to be chatty, unable to give us grandchildren and great-grandchildren red packet like how she used to be. I pray that God wont bring her back so soon. Granny, you have to be strong, to live on to see your fav grandaughter get married.
Second stop, was at my "KU KU" house, she used to take care of us while we were younger. I guess when granny is gone, we will only visit "KU KU". Granny used to be staying with her, before her stroke, but now since granny would need to go for PHYSIO 3times and needed a maid to take care of her, she had to stay with my uncle. She cooked my fav HAKKA tradition dish-Abacus seed. Time flies past easily, as I recall was helping out in preparation for abacus seed just last year with my "KU KU" and granny.Not an easy dish to cook, need alot of skills & preparation.
Final stop, was at RD's grandma place. His parents were also there. Here are some pictures which I have taken.

Reunion Dinner

This year, had my reunion @ Punggol as paternal granny had a stroke last year on Mar 20, since then, she is not well to move around. Had steamboat along the corridor outside my house, 4 tables, 3 steamboats setup. Fortunately, next door is my aunt, so we share the same corridor. After dinner, went to Chinatown wif RD & his parents for squeezy N squashy. For the first time, i bought CNY goodies fr there, was super crowded. Went home after walking thru a stretch of road, unable to be stepped any longer

I was TURNED down

While everyone is busy shopping for CNY goodies and clothes, all I wan is my mani&pedi. Had an appt @3.30pm thinkin that I ll have an early dismiss fr work but damn, had to work till 5.30pm, still cdnt made in time after rescheduled @5.45pm.Sigh, in the end they had to cancel it as it was fully booked. Now had to spend time DIY, fortunately I bought a few bottles of OPI. Not easy booking an appt during feastive seasons.
Also, collected my wedding band..looked good..Will probably keep it till Jul. They have given a Jap made ring pillow. but saw a couple having the bear ones, which was cuter, so requested for them.

talking about Valentine's Day

365 days..everydae is a valentine's day. What matter most is his COMPANY. My vdae was like any ordinary day, spending time wif RD. Went town, got him an expected vdae prez wif my TANGS voucher. After which, went to our frequent eating place at redhill market, a lo-mantic dinner cum supper. what a way... to spend a great v-day. Received a call to collect my wedding band. Was supposedly to arrive in Mar, but Yipeee...can wear it during CNY. Pretty like the comfort fit design.

i PROUD to be living in TOWN

This morning, was a mad rush, got a sms from my coll that he will be arriving at my place soon, and damn was still in bed @0650. Jump out immediately, and quickly get changed, had to reach Fullerton by 8am. Well, guess if i m staying @my new place, will be tough reaching where I work on time assuming if i were to get up late. It's gona be 1hr20mins journey including morning walk. However, if I were to work in CSQ, then easily reach work in 20mins. Woosh..a big difference.

After a long day @work, had to take a train fr Clarke Quay to Punggol. Had a hard time hailing a cab on street and whatmore calling a cab, was amazingly long too, the wait was close to 20mins, pertually hearing music. Are all the cabbies getting Vdae's prezzie? Guess if i stay @my new place, HOME is just 20mins away from CSQ. Beginning to appreaciate the location.

the KEYZ has ARRIVED

Received a call from mum that I hv gotten a big envelope from HDB, immediately went to HDB website to check. It's the 2nd appointment with them on 27 Feb 1010SST. My gutz feel is the key collection. Pretty excited to open the house of R&R to check the defects, like how i did for Punggol. RD has also made an appointment wif our ID to view the house. Yipee!! Hope to get started soon with the renovation

a place HE will learn to be CHEF

Pic of my kitchen enclosed, the laminates and nbr of door to the kitchen cabinets have not been decided. Only tiles selected so far. Hv been contemplating on the hood, if a slim hood will do or shld we have a chimney hood as we wont be having a door. Slim hood will look sleek. At the end of the day, we wont be cooking much.

I love to have a kitchen island, sad to say the layout is in the longish shape which wont allow the space for the island. For now, we will be contented with this simple kitchen.

Good lightings will bring out a cosy and stylish kitchen. However the heat will also contribute when cooking. How nice if there is aircon in the kitchen.

Had received a call this evening from my ID, he THANKED me for recommending my fren who had just signed up with him today. In total, had recommended 4 frens&colls to him. Within 3 weeks, 1 had confirmed with him. Good way of getting business by referrals. The trust/workmanship/price/ability to communicate with my ID were definitely the key factors for consideration. Design wise, can alwis steal ideas from other ID firm. Well he did give a good recommendation in term of position of TV, as not to be seen common from the rest. Also, he helped to save money by recommendating parquet at the cosy area instead of the common platform. Hv also heard from my coll whom i got to know this ID, that his after sales service is so far so good even after a year half. Best of all, his warranty is 5 years. Beside UniMax that gives 8 years, none has given 5 years.

i saw LIGHTS @ 75C

When bypassing our block last nitez, saw 2 units with lights turned onz. Which means to say, the keyz should be arriving real soon. Hope it will be in time for my the ROM 070707. Had gone up to the 12th floor last Sat with mum and RD and must say it was pretty windy.
